Back to News index IVORY JAMES COLT TOPS 2010 ECLIPSE SALE ON SATURDAY 2010-08-08 GRAND PRARIE, TX—AUGUST 7, 2010—Dennis Stroebel paid $29,000 for an Ivory James colt on Saturday evening at the 6th Annual Eclipse Select Yearling Sale held in the sales pavilion at Lone Star Park. Forty-three yearlings sold for a $245,500 gross and $$5,709 average. Twenty-two head sold in the mixed session for $60,600, an average of $2,755. Gravity Defied, a colt by first crop sire Ivory James out of Vertical Horizon by Strawfly Special, brought the high-bid of $29,000 from Stroebel. The ½ brother to grade 1 placed Vertical Vision ($145,519) was consigned by Joe Kirk Fulton. Fulton was the #2 seller by gross dollars with six head bring $61,400 for a $10,233 average. Denny & Evans paid $28,000 for a daughter of A Real Choice out of Miss Jp Delight. Cosigned by JEH Stallion Station, agent for Eaves Horses Family Ltd. Partners, the bay filly is the first foal of an unraced Mr Jess Perry ½ sister to champions Tres Seis ($856,901) and Dean Miracle($199,601), and stakes winners Fortune Of Delight ($100,269), A Delightful Legacy ($179,153) and Our Casanova ($38,874). Ivory James topped the leading sires list with two for a $19,100 average. He was followed by Feature Mr Jess who sold four for $9,425 average and Special Leader with two averaging $5,750. Stroebel and Denny and Evans were the leading buyers by gross with 1 yearling each and JEH Stallion Station, Agent sold 24 head for $111,900 to become the leading consignor. next |
